Silver or silver plated items are something that I had never sought out for one reason or another. I had found some silverware/flatware from time to time in of all places a scrapyard/junkyard and held on to them. But for the most part I either didn't have the room or most of what I liked was too expensive.
Now, once I had the room I didn't have the money (isn't it that way for most of us). Well I happened to be browsing in a local thrift store some time later and found the tea sets and silverware and just had to have them. So began my silver collection!
At the time I took the pics I had just unpacked them so they are all pretty well tarnished. Hopefully I can polish them up and take some new pics to really show off their beauty.
Silver Plated Hostess Bell from Avon's Hudson Manner Collection
3 piece carving set made in Sheffield England by R. Hostombe & Son and is marked
Quadruple plate vintage is late 19th to early 20th century
I have tried to research this item and was only able to find one image of it and that one had a slightly different design engraved onto it with no relevant information
These 2 coffee/tea sets were my first purchases and subsequently began my collection
and yes, I know they need polished badly
